Our journey commenced in 1985 when our founder, alongside his sons, began selling confections from pushcarts across Chennai.This initiative was driven by a commitment to quality, a clear mission to share authentic flavors, and the ambition to make a meaningful impact on the culinary landscape.
In 1987, we launched our first retail establishment, where we offered a curated assortment of sweets and savory items. The positive reception from our customers led to the introduction of chaat in 1991, marking the debut of authentic North Indian Street food flavors in Chennai and Kanchipuram.
The growing demand for our offerings led to a significant milestone in 2007 with the establishment of our North Indian cuisine restaurants. These venues have created a space for patrons to enjoy rich gravies, freshly baked breads, and traditional comfort meals. By 2010, our culinary creations were not only well-received but celebrated within the community. In response, we introduced catering services that provided a diverse selection of sweets, chaats, and North Indian dishes for various events. Our ethos as a family-owned business was further reflected in the introduction of banquet halls in 2013,which offered elegant and affordable solutions for celebrations.
In 2017, we innovated the gifting experience in Chennai and Kanchipuram with the introduction of curated hampers that blend tradition with modern presentation. The following chapter of our expansion began in 2023 with the launch of Mistree, a premium brand aimed at enhancing SgB’s product offerings through sophisticated design and timeless flavors, now gaining traction across India.
As we look forward to 2025, we are set to introduce a line of Indian flavored beverages. Our strategic vision is to evolve into the leading provider for all wedding gifting solutions—encompassing sweets, savories, hampers, and overall celebratory enhancements. Throughout our journey, we have remained steadfast in our commitment to quality, trust, and the desire to make our culinary offerings an integral part of life’s most significant moments.

The House of Sree Gupta Bhavan was established in 1987 in Chennai, with a great dream to spread the magic of choicest homemade recipes across India. This culinary journey began from Mathura with the blessings of our proud mother. Our journey and dream are fulfilling, as Chennai savours the array of our delightful flavours for over three decades, and continues to do so. The widespread patronage with 21 outlets and counting, it has been assuring us of our commitment in providing quality products over time.
